The company was set up in the 1960s in Langhirano, the world capital of raw ham, when Parma ham was reaching the height of its fame. Since then, the company has specialised in the production of raw ham, constantly striving, with an almost obsessive enthusiasm, to achieve perfect quality in this unique product, which is well known and highly esteemed throughout the world.
All of the Ghirardi Onesto hams are natural products, using only the best Italian pork meats without the aid of preservatives, nitrates or chemicals in general, but with the sole addition of sea salt. During the long process of ageing, the scent, the flavour and the delicateness of its sweet taste are blended and harmonised to make Prosciutto Ghirardi Onesto one of the masterpieces of cured pork meats, appreciated in the best restaurants all over the world.
